While rewiring the 7 Works MR2 around a Haltech Nexus R3, I wanted a bus bar that matched the Sur Lok connectors used by the Nexus and other modern devices. Options do exist, but nothing I found struck the balance of finish, footprint and terminal count I was after - so I designed and built my own.
The result is a 5-way Sur Lok bus bar, made specifically for this installation. The housing is professionally 3D printed in nylon with heat-set threaded inserts at every fastener, giving it a clean, durable, production-quality finish. Inside runs a solid copper bar linking all five terminals into a single distribution point.
In a setup like this, it can handle battery positive, alternator input and starter output, with the remaining terminals feeding the ECU, PDM and other key circuits - consolidating the main power distribution into one tidy hub.
Alongside this, I also developed a 4 way version to cover applications where the extra terminal is not required.
A sealed version will also be available once stock of sealed connectors recover.
